Not exactly an LCV thing, but I had the honour of being asked to arrange “The Parting Glass” for a group of 70 Irish singers living in London, and then conduct them in the Royal Albert Hall as part of the finale of this amazing celebration of Irish culture in Britain. We shared the stage with Glen Hansard, Elvis Costello, Paul Brady, John Sheahan, Imelda May, Lisa Hannigan, Dónal Lunny and others. There were a few LCV people in the ranks, and I think we’ll be having a few more members joining the choir from the Irish contingent very soon. It was an amazing experience, and I even got to meet the President of Ireland (and he gave me a hug, no less!). Wow.
