London City Voices is so much more than your average London choir… We are a community, a group of friends, an increasingly-large group of drinking buddies… and we are also a dynamic non-religious, non-audition community London choir.
While government restrictions are still in place, we are holding rehearsals online only, on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and we usually have a more informal online singalong on Fridays. We are hoping that we will be able to return to in-person rehearsals very soon.
In normal times, we have three in-person branches and one virtual branch: West End on Monday evenings, online on Tuesday evenings, City of London on Wednesday evenings and Waterloo on Thursday evenings. We rehearse in separate locations, and then perform at least twice a year all together. Have a look at our videos to see this in action. The aim of London City Voices is to give people an opportunity to sing their hearts out up to four times a week after work. We come together to have some fun and make a great sound (and then go to the pub!). We start rehearsals at 6:30pm and finish at 8pm (occasionally a little later). Our online rehearsals start at 7pm and finish at 8:30pm. Be assured that we're a big choir, and we usually have several new attendees every evening, so you're unlikely to be the only newbie. It's difficult to say how many we are in total, as people come and go from term to term, but it's probably anywhere between 350 and 500 people across the four branches.
